Manage links

This guide covers working with links that already exist: the Links list, the link detail page, editing, template attach/detach, activating and deactivating, bulk actions, and CSV export. Creating a link is covered in Create & share a link. What the fields mean and how inheritance resolves is explained in Link anatomy.

Every org member can browse, search, filter, sort, copy URLs, download QR codes, and export CSV. Actions that change a link (edit, activate/deactivate, delete, bulk actions, template attach/detach) need the Developer role or above. See Team & roles.

Open Links. Every filter is written into the page URL, so a filtered view survives a refresh.

  • Search matches a link's short code, destination path, or title.
  • Status chips (All / Active / Inactive) filter on the link's active state.
  • Created after / Created before narrow the list by creation date.
  • Tag picks one tag; the dropdown lists every tag in use across your org's links. "All tags" clears the filter.
  • Sort: click the Clicks or Created column header. The first click sorts descending; the default order is newest first.
  • Each active filter shows as a removable chip above the table; Clear all removes them all.

Changing any filter resets the list to page 1 and clears your bulk selection.

Read the list

The table shows 10 links per page; a "Showing X–Y of Z" footer appears when there is more than one page. The Clicks column is the link's all-time click count.

While a page loads you see skeleton rows. If the list fails to load, a banner with Retry appears. With no results you get either "No links match your filters." (plus Clear filters) or "No links yet." with a Create your first link button for Developer+ roles. On a phone, scroll the table sideways.

Export CSV

Export CSV (all roles) downloads links-YYYY-MM-DD.csv with the current filtered, searched, and sorted view: every matching link, not just the visible page. Columns: shortCode, url, path, title, tags, status, clicks, createdAt.

Bulk actions (Developer+)

  1. Tick the checkboxes of the links you want. Selection is per page: change any filter and it clears.
  2. A toolbar appears at the bottom of the table: {n} link(s) selected.
  3. Deactivate applies immediately, with no confirmation step.
  4. Delete opens a dialog that asks you to type the number of selected links before it deletes them and their click histories.

Row menu

Each row has a menu with:

  • View — open the detail page.
  • Copy URL — copy the link's full short URL.
  • Activate / Deactivate (Developer+). Deactivate asks for confirmation first; Activate applies immediately.
  • Delete (Developer+): permanent; see Delete a link.

Deactivate or delete

Deactivating pauses a link without destroying anything:

  • The short URL stops resolving immediately. Visitors see "This link has been deactivated."
  • The link's click history is kept.
  • Reactivate any time from the row menu or the detail page switch; activation is immediate.
  • A deactivated link still counts toward your plan's link quota. Only deleting frees the slot.

Deleting is permanent: the link and its entire click history are removed, and the quota slot is freed.

Open a link (row menu → View) to see its effective configuration.

  • The URL bar shows the full short URL with a working Copy.
  • The Behavior, UTM attribution, and Open Graph sections show effective values, and every row carries a provenance badge: Override (set on this link), template, org, or default. When a value looks wrong, the badge tells you which layer set it — usually a template override you forgot about.
  • Parameters render as chips, with a "merged" badge when template and link parameters combine. Tags also render as chips.
  • The identity block lists Path, Short code, and Title.
  • The sidebar records Created, Updated, Expiry ("Never" when unset), and Domain.

Template strip

A From: {name} badge names the attached template. Developer+ controls:

  • Change reopens the template picker.
  • Attach appears when no template is attached.
  • Detach opens a confirm dialog: inherited values fall back to their defaults, values you set directly are kept, and you can re-attach a template later.

QR code

The detail page previews the QR inline and offers Download SVG / PNG; the files are named after the short code, e.g. qr-promo-launch.svg. If the preview fails to load you'll see "QR preview unavailable — downloads may still work."

QR images are cached for 24 hours. After changing a link's domain or short code, the old QR image can keep appearing for up to a day.

Developer+: Edit on the detail page opens a form with five sections: Destination & identity, Parameters, Attribution, Social preview, Advanced.

Attribution and social preview fields are tri-state:

  • Inherit (the default): the field takes its value from the template, org default, or built-in default. The disabled input shows the effective value and its source badge.
  • Override: the input becomes editable, pre-filled with the inherited value.
  • Switching back to inherit clears your override: the template's value applies again, including future template edits.

The remaining fields behave plainly: path, short code (with a live availability hint), title, expiry date, domain (your verified domains only), tags, and additional parameters. Channel is read-only: the form marks it "Snapshotted onto the link at creation — not editable." See Link anatomy for why channel is snapshotted.

Saving sends only the fields you changed. If you change nothing and save, the form just closes; no request is sent. After a save the page reloads the link, so every field re-seeds from the saved state.

Developer+: Delete on the detail page asks you to type the link's exact short code. Confirming deletes the link and its click history permanently, frees the quota slot, and returns you to the list.
